During this visit, you discover the history of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, the territory of Sauternes, its viticulture and the secret of its sweet wines. We explain the special link that unites our wines to the art of LALIQUE. After the visit of the estate, historical plot l’Enclos, fermentating room, cellars, Chapel and its exceptional and unique crystal barrel LALIQUE, we invite you to taste three wines of the Château. This tasting moment takes place at the Vinothèque.

Visit & Vertical Tasting
After a visit of the estate, the vat room, the cellars and the chapel and its exceptional and unique crystal barrel LALIQUE, let your senses go for a vertical tasting of four vintages of our first Grand Cru Classé in Sauternes. This experience will open your taste buds to the magic of Sauternes and reveal what makes a vintage a great emotion over the years.

Notre histoire
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is the work of centuries, undertaken by various families of owners who have striven to glorify the estate and the fame of its wines. It all began in the Middle Ages : the chateau’s porch and wall towers were built in the 13th century using the remains of very old stone from the village of Bommes. Several owners followed one another and magnified the estate, including the Peyraguey family, Baron Pierre de Pichard and the Lafaurie family. In 1855, the classification of Sauternes and Barsac wines gave Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey a reputation for excellence as a Premier Grand Crus Classés.
After being owned by the wine merchant Désiré Cordier and to the Suez group, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey was bought in 2014 by Silvio Denz, who also headed a group of four Châteaux in Saint-Emilion and the LALIQUE crystal factory. In the heart of Sauternes, he wants to bring together wine, gastronomy, art and hospitality. The Hôtel & Restaurant LALIQUE opened in June 2018 after extensive renovations. Only a few months after its opening, the Hotel, with its 10 rooms and 3 suites, gets 5 stars and the distinction Relais & Châteaux. In January 2019, Chef Jérôme Schilling and his team were awarded by a Michelin star, thus offering a first starry table in the Sauternes region.
The wine tourism team is pleased to welcome you for a visit & tasting. We also welcome you to the Vinotheque, where you will find more than 30 vintages of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey and other wines from the Silvio Denz vineyards. Several LALIQUE collections are highlighted with decorative objects, jewelry and culinary art objects, including wine glasses and carafes 100 points by James Suckling.
The Vinotheque is open every day from 10h to 19h and tours are available on reservation from 10h to 18h.

Great tasting and we loved our tour guide. We were only able to bring home a few bottles and hopefully can find some in the United States. After our stay, we were on a biking tour with Duvine and told them they should make you a stop on their itinerary. Also, the Hotel Lalique was the best stay of our 10 days in Bordeaux.
