Onze geschiedenis
The fine wines of Château Malescasse have appeared in the records of wine brokers since the beginning of the 19th century. They were already prized as one of the most consistently high-quality products in Bordeaux’s most important area of trade. The enduring qualities of their fine gravel terroir have been expressed for many decades in a range of products of supreme elegance.
Located in Lamarque, between Margaux and Saint-Julien, the Château Malescasse was built in 1824 in the purest neoclassical style of the time. It’s a 40 hectares vines in one piece.
The Tesseron family, which owns the famous Château Pontet Canet Grand Cru Classé 1855 in Pauillac, became the owner of Malescasse in 1979. It was at this time that the reputation of Malescasse wines with Bordeaux merchants and brokers was born after a renovation of the facilities to increase the quality of the wine.
The current owner, Philippe Austruy, passionate about art and wine, bought the property in 2012 with the ambition to bring the wines and the reputation of the Château to a level of excellence.
For this, he hires Stéphane Derenoncourt, famous wine consultant, to develop his wine and together they begin a major restructuring to rehabilitate the grape varieties to the different plots of the property.

Bellissimo Chateau e bellissima visita. La guida è stata bravissima a raccontare la storia dello Chateau e la tecnica di produzione del vino. Conoscevo già il vino ed è stato una conferma, eccellente!
Nous sommes venu à 6 : 90€ pour 30mn de visite. Visite très bien menée, très bon accueil. Nous avons ensuite acheté du vin : le montant alloué à la visite pourrait venir en déduction de l achat de vin pour tout ou partie ! Nous aurions pu acheté plus mais ce manque d esprit « commerçant » est un peu dissuasif. Un cadeau aurait été bienvenue.
Nice and friendly welcome at the chateau. We liked the tour and a lot of questions were answered. I would\'ve liked more technical explanation and also a tour through the vineyard itself, we only stayed inside. Besides this, the tasting was nice but quite basic, we got to taste different years of the wine but didn\'t get a full explanation about the wines and what we should be able to taste. Could be more advanced for the private excellence tour we booked.
