Nossa história
O nome Peyraguey significa colinas ou promontório. Primeiro crescimento classificado em 1855, o Clos é uma antiga baronia adquirida no século 18 pelo Presidente do Parlamento de Bordéus, guilhotinado na Revolução. A propriedade foi então adquirida por Monsieur Lafaurie sob o nome, Pichard-Lafaurie. Entre 1864 e 1879, a propriedade mudou as mãos de Monsieur Saint Rieul Dupouy para Comte Duchatel. Quando o legado do conde foi dividido em 1879, a propriedade foi dividida em duas: uma parte foi chamada Lafaurie-Peyraguey como uma homenagem a Monsieur Lafaurie, que tinha trazido renome e prestígio, enquanto a terra mais alta no topo da colina de Bommes era chamada Clos Haut -Peyraguey. Foi essa terra que foi comprada por um químico parisiense, Monsieur Grillon. Em 1914, Eugène Garbay, o bisavô de Jacques Pauly, comprou o Clos Haut-Peyraguey com Fernand Ginestet (já era dono do Château Haut-Bommes). Vários anos depois,
Monsieur Ginestet deixou sua participação no negócio familiar. Eugène Garbay ofereceu ambas as propriedades aos seus netos, Bernard e Pierre, que exploraram as duas propriedades por muitos anos. Em 2012, Clos Haut-Peyraguey foi comprado por Bernard Magrez com a intenção de perpetuar a excelência de seus vinhos Sauternes, mas também para melhorar a sua internacional renome.

When I booked the tour, I was only offered a tour in French, fortunately, Clara spoke excellent English and explained everything very well. The Five Sense tour was very interesting and informative. Well done Clara.
They were so wondefully accommodating! We actually booked this tour quite late and it happened that there was no English tour guide available. They offered to reschedule for the next day but we would be leaving the area. They were kind enough to allow us to still visit and gave us a tour in French, but we were able to do some translating and they had some pamphlets in Englis that were very helpful. It was a great tour and tasting!

I thought we could taste a mature wine instead. Tasting a immature wine will just make the trip imperfect.

A very kind old man greeted us. he spoke only French . Very helpful with our questions.
Our host was excellent once we located him, because it wasn't clear where to go, the reception was locked, and we waited for a bit. Tour and tasting were one of our best experiences at this smaller producer, and our guide was very engaging. He didn't speak English, however, so I did my best to translate for my father, who does not speak French. Overall, a good experience.
